Irish-------------------------------------------------------
These fine Europeans have a rich history of being kicked in the teeth. They are a proud bunch and they love to represent the mother land.
Some topics of choice are:
3 leafed clover: Luck o' the Irish! Sooooooo, apparently it is said that St. Patrick used the clover to represent the holy trinity. Some say that there is no evidence of that but the Triquetra dates back before Christianity entered Ireland so the number three has been a big deal there for a while anyway. Yep, so all of those irish 4 leaf clovers are, um, yeah...a marketing mixup. Shamrocks have 3 leaves.
Claddagh: A symbol made of two hands holding a heart with a crown on top. This represents love, friendship, and loyalty. This symbol in the form of a ring is given as a token of friendship but more often than not it is given as an engagement or wedding ring. There are many traditions from region to region dealing with this symbol as a ring, but many are newer and hard to trace.
Eire go Brach: Ireland Forever (Ireland 'til Doomsday in strict definition) In later years the English form Erin Go Bragh has taken hold, which I find a little ironic, and annoying.
Faeries: Now these can be the little tinkerbell cuties or the annoying little bastards from the Labyrinth. The Fae are a diverse group of beings.
Harp: The symbol of Ireland. This symbol dates back to
Irish Flag: Obvious
